DMT, or N,N-dimethyltryptamine, can be a member of a family members of organic and natural compounds known as tryptamines. Tryptamines share a Main framework consisting of the bicyclic indole heterocycle attached at R3 to an amino group by means of an ethyl aspect chain. DMT consists of two methyl groups (CH3-) bound to the terminal amine RN at the
